Having a baby with a cold is bad. You and your baby having colds at the same time is worse. But thank the Lord, we're both getting better. Poor Noah just can't seem to shake the congestion -we're really hoping it will clear up soon. He's probably getting tired of having saline shot into his nose all the time. That's pretty much all you can do for babies.
But in spite of all the sniffles and setbacks, he's doing well. Now that we seem to be getting past the worst of the cold, as well as the reflux, the milk allergy, and immunizations, we're discovering that we have a happy baby boy. He smiles all the time and pretty much only cries when he's really tired or hungry. He tries to laugh, but usually just ends up giving himself the hiccups. He can get his fists to his mouth now and he can grasp things. One of his favorite things to do these days is chew on his burp rag or his tag blanket.
For those of you who haven't held him lately, he's a chunk! The last time we went to the doctor, he was 24 inches long and 14 lbs 13 oz, but I bet he's 15.5, maybe close to 16 lbs by now. And he's not quite three months! He's in the 95th percentile on weight, which Danny Joe explained to me means he's bigger than 95 percent of babies his age. They say breastfed babies tend to be skinnier, but not this one! He has tons of fat rolls, jiggly cheeks and two chins. He's beautiful and he's happy and we're totally enraptured by him.
God bless,
Vee
