Nearing the end...

Well, today is officially the last day that I will be pregnant with this little lady. We go in tomorrow at 5 am (5 am! can you believe it?) to be induced. My doctor thinks it won't even take pitocin. He'll just break my water and see where we go from there. Everyone thinks it will go faster this time (it was 13 hours with Noah, two of those spent pushing...) and I sure hope so. Since I'm already dilated between a 3 and a 4 and already mostly effaced, it really should go quicker this time.

I'll see how long I can take it. That was the plan with Noah and it's the same this time. When the contractions get to the almost-unbearable stage, I'll go ahead and get the epidural. She's not nearly as big as he was (they're predicting 7 and 1/2 pounds, two pounds less than big brother) so maybe delivery and recovery won't be quite so difficult this time. I gained 40 pounds with Noah and only 25 or so with this one. If that's any indication, she'll be our delicate little flower!

I'm pretty nervous, although not quite as much about childbirth this time. More nervous about having two small children. Noah keeps me hopping on his own - how in the world am I going to manage a newborn on top of that?! Say a prayer for us!

I know it will all work out and our babies will be best friends and we will have an amazing, happy, beautiful family. But it's an unknown frontier and I have a feeling we're in for a ride!
