More shower pictures!

More fun shower pictures. I especially love the shot of the little shoes... I thought I was going to fall over from the cuteness! Is there anything more adorable than tiny shoes?

Springfield Baby Shower

Here they are - pictures of the baby shower. We were blessed with many wonderful gifts and we are very thankful. The shower was great fun; it was a joint shower for me and Emily Ash, who's having a baby boy in April. Terri, Tessa, Sheri, Debbie, Emily and Anne hosted it and they did a fantastic job. If you notice that my nose is unnaturally red in all these pictures it's because I had a horrible cold - such a bummer on your shower night! But it was still wonderful.

Aloha....baby!!

We just booked it! Four days on Kauai Island, Hawaii! We're staying at a little hotel right on the beach with the mountains in the distance. Look how gorgeous...

We wanted to take a babymoon (the increasingly popular "honeymoon" before the baby comes) somewhere with a warm, sunny beach. I was thinking Florida, but Danny surprised me by suggesting Hawaii. Who am I to argue?

Especially since this pregnancy wasn't planned and happened faster than we expected, we thought it might be nice to make a special trip for the two of us before we begin the ultimate parenting adventure. He's been to Hawaii before and has been wanting to go back and see some of the other islands. From all that we read and heard, Kauai was a good choice for us because it's less commercialized, smaller, quieter and easier for a seven-months-pregnant woman to get around and see a few sights than some of the more popular islands.

We're really excited about it. Of course, now we have to buy a better camera so that the pictures I post here for y'all are as spectacular as possible! Pray for us and the baby to have safe travels all through the trip.

God bless,

Vanessa and Danny

Belly pix and good news

My friend Katherine wanted a picture with the belly displayed prominently. Here we are, looking fabulous together. She and her hubby are headed to the movies and DJ and I are headed to the opera.

All dressed up for the opera. We saw the comedy "The Magic Flute" by Mozart. It was a lovely evening!

Having dinner at Uno's with our friends Chris and Katherine in Kansas City.

The most recent shot of the belly. This was taken a couple days ago - at 6 months. The nurse called just today and said my test results were all normal. The Peanut and I are as healthy as can be. Yay for good news.

Expectant couple

I thought y'all might like a picture of the expectant couple. We rarely take pictures together, but I'm going to try to do better. Next weekend, we're dressing up and going to the opera, so I'll definitely bring my camera along and get some pictures. I think I'm getting some baby fat in my face. I can't see it in the mirror, but I see it in the picture.
We went to church in Champion this past Sunday, which was enjoyable. That's where Lonnie Krider attends. He's been diagnosed with cancer and could use your prayers. I'd never been there before, so that was nice - even if we did have to drive down this rather awful curvy, hilly road that made me a little carsick. It was a beautiful bright kite-flying kind of weekend and then last night, it snowed three inches. That's March in Missouri.
Next week, I have my glucose test and iron test. I'm not worried, because I haven't been having any problems, but I'm praying the tests are negative and I don't have gestational diabetes or anemia. Mostly, I don't want have to go on any special diet. I'll certainly have to update the blog next week after the doctor's appointment.
Love,
Vee
